Angela James

Angela James teaches at the rank of associate professor within the School of Health Professions at National University-Los Angeles Campus. She was an assistant professor at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science prior to her appointment at National University. She earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Azusa Pacific University in 2015. Her research focus in addressing inhibitors and facilitators to health screening behaviors aligns with the University’s whole human approach to education. Her primary emphasis is exploring the role of intimate partners in improving health outcomes among minority populations. She contributes to established learning outcomes by facilitating didactic and clinical experiences for novice nursing students that recognize and support diverse cultural practices, definitions, and perspectives on health. Dr. James teaches undergraduate nursing courses on foundational knowledge and skills and direct patient care within the health care delivery system.
