Sara Briggs

Sara Briggs is the Academic Program Director for Masters and Doctoral Nursing Programs in the School of Health Professions at National University. She is a board-certified Nurse Executive at the Advanced Level (NEA-BC), a past recipient of the AACN Circle of Excellence Award and an active member of her community, holding board positions with several organizations. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky and her terminal degree at Eastern Kentucky University. Her career has spanned over 25 years of healthcare management and executive leadership at the highest level including, her role as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at a large healthcare system in the Greater Cincinnati area. She also has experience in clinical operations, organizational leadership, academic medical centers, Magnet organizations, community hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Dr. Briggs has been teaching at the collegiate level for 14 years. She resides in Union, Kentucky with her husband Will and their 3 children Lex, Landon, and Rowan.
