The JFK School of Law offers many paths to a degree in the legal field. If you are considering a career as a lawyer, and are looking for an online JD program, the JD program at the JFK School of Law has been continually accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners for the State Bar of California since 1981. Our program emphasizes the practical application of theory, preparing students to successfully sit for the CA Bar Examination and enter the legal profession as highly skilled, ethical, and passionate legal professionals.
If you are considering either an undergraduate degree in law to prepare you for law school, or a degree or certificate to work as a paralegal, we have several American Bar Association (ABA)-approved undergraduate paralegal and pre-law degrees to prepare you for a wide range of positions in the legal field. Paralegals are valued members of a legal team, but they may not provide legal advice or legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law. No undergraduate or certificate program offered by the JFK School of Law qualifies students to practice law nor do they satisfy the legal education requirement to take the California Bar exam.
We value the flexibility that distance learning provides, and the importance of faculty-to-student mentorship and student-to-student interaction. Additionally, the JFK School of Law provides law students the opportunity to enroll in courses that blend both synchronous and asynchronous learning, allowing you to work towards a law degree on your own time, and from a place that is convenient for you.

The JFK School of Law at National University is accredited by The Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. Accreditation by The Committee of Bar Examiners permits graduates from JFK School of Law to take the California Bar Examination upon graduation and, when the graduate passes and complies with all other admission requirements, to practice law anywhere in California, in both State and federal courts.
The ABA-approved law programs are the Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies and all three paralegal certificates. The JD is not ABA-approved.
Neither the American Bar Association nor its Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar endorses, cooperates with, or provides data to any law school ranking system. No ranking or rating system of law schools is attempted or advocated by the ABA. Rather, the ABA provides only a statement of the accreditation status of a school. Fully approved schools have demonstrated that they are operating in compliance with each of the ABA Standards for Approval of Law Schools. Their compliance is regularly monitored and comprehensive reviews are conducted every tenth year. Provisionally approved schools, also considered “ABA-Approved,” have been determined to be operating in substantial compliance with the ABA Standards for Approval of Law Schools. Prospective law students should consider a variety of factors in making their choice among schools. Learn more about accreditations here.
