IACE Certifies National University’s Master of Science in Cyber Security Program

San Diego, Calif. – National University, the second-largest private, nonprofit institution of higher education in California and the 12th-largest in the United States, has been informed by the Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program that the courseware for the University’s Master of Science in Cyber Security program has met the criteria for certification by the IACE, the University announced today.

Specifically, graduates of National University’s Master of Science in Cyber Security Program will have met the elements of the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) National Training Standards for two certificates, including the Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals, NSTISSI No. 4011, as well as Senior Systems Managers, CNSSI No. 4012.

National University will receive recognition and an official certificate during the June 2013 CNSS Ceremony, with will be held at the 17th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE). The certificate will be valid through June 2018.

National University’s Master of Science in Cyber Security program is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for in-class and online courses. The program is taught at the University’s Technology and Health Sciences Center in Kearny Mesa.

The first cohort from the Master of Science in Cyber Security program graduated earlier this year. The cohort included members of the U.S. Navy, including a Navy Seal, a corpsman, and several Chief Warrant Officers, as well as an IRS agent and a student who was hired by Qualcomm to its security team.
